Holiday Inn Downtown Johnstown to Host Ice Cream Social to Help Children with Life-threatening Illnesses
Johnstown, Pennsylvania August 2, 2011 – The Holiday Inn Downtown Johnstown is taking part in “Ice Cream for Breakfast,” the national fundraising and awareness campaign for Give Kids The World, by holding an ice cream social to benefit the nonprofit organization. The community is invited to attend the upcoming ice cream social, which will be held from 11am-2pm Thursday August 11th, at the Holiday Inn Downtown Johnstown located at 250 Market Street.
In exchange for a donation of $5, attendees are encouraged to tap into their childhood desires and indulge in a build-your-own-sundae bar with ice cream and several toppings. The ice cream will be donated from the food providers C.A. Curtze and US Foods. As a special treat, all paid attendees will have the opportunity to dunk several community leaders in a dunking booth located outside. Local leaders who will be dunked include: Mike Barletta President of Crown American Associates, Tom Lear General Manager Holiday Inn, Scott Becker CEO Conemaugh Health System, John Polacek COO JWF Defense Systems, and Curt Davis former Johnstown City Manager. The goal of the event is to raise money through this ice cream social to help Give Kids The World fulfill its mission of providing dream vacations to children with life-threatening illnesses.
Give Kids The World Village is a whimsical storybook resort located in Central Florida for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families.
