Holiday Inn Downtown Johnstown to Host Ice Cream Social to Help Children with Life-threatening Illnesses
Johnstown, Pennsylvania July 1, 2010 – The Holiday Inn Downtown Johnstown is taking part in ―Ice Cream for Breakfast,‖ the national fundraising and awareness campaign for Give Kids The World, by holding an ice cream social to benefit the nonprofit organization.
The community is invited to attend the upcoming ice cream social, which will be held at 12pm on Thursday July, 15th at the Holiday Inn Downtown Johnstown located at 250 Market Street. In exchange for a donation of $5, attendees are encouraged to tap into their childhood desires and indulge in a build-your-own-sundae bar with ice cream and several toppings. The ice cream will be donated from the food provider C.A. Curtze. As a special treat, all paid attendees will have the opportunity to dunk General Manager, Tom Lear in a dunking booth outside of the hotel! The goal of the event is to raise money through this ice cream social to help Give Kids The World fulfill its mission of providing dream vacations to children with life-threatening illnesses.
Give Kids The World Village is a whimsical storybook resort located in Central Florida. Give Kids The World provides these special children and their families with weeklong, cost-free vacations that include accommodations at the magical Village, meals, donated attraction tickets and much more. The Ice Cream for Breakfast campaign coincides with National Ice Cream Month, which is celebrated every July. Having the delicious treat is a simple way to celebrate the joy of childhood and family togetherness. Through the Ice Cream for Breakfast campaign, Give Kids The World is not only working to raise funds, but also awareness about children fighting life-threatening illnesses. The fundraising socials are a fun way to engage families, friends and community groups to help raise money so Give Kids The World can continue to serve these special children for many years to come.
